I am looking for the Chrome switch housings for an 06 electra Glide with radio. I see them at the local "stealer" but am wondering if there is anyone out there that has a better price on them. I am also looking for the switch covers as well.
Any help would be appreciated!
you can get them on e-bay for $50-$60, rather than the $120+ the dealer wants. I got them for my '06 WG amd the '07 UC. they are a pain, but if you take you time you can do it. i highly recommend however that you have the HD service manual just in case you get stuck. Patience is the word when doing this!!
Are the cheap ones on Ebay still decent ones to buy. I have seen them myself and am adding bars soon and wanted to replace them. Anyone buy the master cylindar and clutch perch set ups on Ebay? If so, how is the quality. Prices are good, that is why I am curious. Sorry if I jacked your thread CEMAX12000. Inquiring minds want to know.
they were so nice that my friends bought 3 more sets. So 4 sets bought and they have all been 100% PERFECT..... at 45.00 they are a fraction of the HD ones.
Rob's has super fast shipping and everything comes packed great, buy a set you wont be disapointed.
the two sets i bought on e-bay are great. chrome is excellent. only issue i ran into is that the hold for the clutch/neutral switch wasn't drilled for my '07 UC. no big deal though, just measured off the old covers, and drilled the new ones. They cost a lot less than HD, and I'd recommend them to anyone. Think the e-bay vendor was tennessee cycle.
Same here as the others. I bought the complete set from Ebay. Fraction of the cost, and I figured if I get 2-3 years with no isses, than it was worth the savings! I got everything fro $180 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290072466953 )
I had some fitment issues with the starter switch rubbing the side of the housing... I just relieved it with a dremel tool and all was better. Plus the look of all that chrome against the blue looks awesome.
I purchased complete chrome controls for my EG from Eastern Performance Cycles for $120 plus free shipping--switch housings, levers, clutch perch and master cylinder. They have been on the bike for about 25K miles over the past 18 months and still look perfect.
As long as you will be doing the switch housings, the modest additional cost is well worth the "look" IMHO, to do all the controls.
