Getting apes in the next couple of weeks to replace my rk custom bars. Going to have extra parts if you are interested. I find the bars very comfy, just isn't the look I want. From what I have been told, the cables are all standard length to what you probally already have. I may be incorrect, as I am new to harley. But I am learning.
Just bought a set of these(RK Custom bars)last week for my RK Classic. I got all the cables and brakes lines with the bars. I'm pretty sure they are a little longer that the stock Classic stuff. That's not to say the Classic cables won't work. Maybe someone who has done this will chime in.
I have just installed the 06 RK Custom bars on my 06 RK Classic in the past two weeks with out changing any of the original cables. You will have to bend the brake line carefully but it will work and it will have good movement. I will more than likely change all my cables to the braided ones in the near future but for now they work just fine.

ecujay,
Thanks for the comeback...how do you like the feel of the bars on your bike. So if I wanted to get the braided brake lines from the get go, I should measure the old ones and add an inch or two ??
If I stay will the old brake lines for now, where exactly are you talking about bending the brake lines...is it up by the brake fluid reservoir ??
Guys,
You shouldconsider all the Road King Custom owners who have removed the stock bars and opted for something better. They were not comfortable for me and I would hit my leg turning at parking lot speeds. I hated them and went to apes.
I did have to bend the line but not much at all at the top, more in the middle where the line follows the stock bars, but you will not have to bend them much at all. You just want to be sure as to not crease the line and you will be ok. I know that alot of RK custom owners change their bars out but for me these bars are great, no more of my hand going to sleep and my arms are back with a very comfortable bend in them, so far I think that the exchange was well worth it. I hope that this helps.
I'm just kinda wondering what's wrong with the RK Custom handlebars? I have beach bars on my '02 RK which will soon be switched for something else with muchmore pullback and a bit moreheight. Should I be shopping for these Custom bars or WO's 508's?
I would highly recommend the WO518s over the WO508s... Have 508's on my '01 RKC and the Son put on 518's on his '05 RK.. The 518's seem fit better on the wrists...
