Front brake effectiveness?
I remember front brakes being the most effective brake and find these the opposite, maybe I just need to get the feel of them....

I have just over 200 miles on my 07 FLHTC and the first thing I noticed from previous bikes is the front brakes are very soft. Has anyone else noticed this on Harleys compared to metric bikes or should I take it to the dealer for a check up?

You got over 200 miles now, so they're broken in... nows the time to go "get used to them".
Find a road thats condusive to panic stops and work up to giving yer front brake lever the big squeeze. I think you'll find that the dual rotor brake setup on the touring models are quite effective. I take exception with your comment above (in orange)... Don't ever think the rear brake on any motorcycle is the more effective one. On the backroad, the test is: How quickly can I stop with out locking em up!
Just wondering, could one of you brake calipers be "lazy" or not being applied with the same force as the other?
Hack
So far, I have handled that without a problem or a wreck, but I wonder in the future if that will be the case. I ride very fast, but am always looking far ahead and trying to anticipate everyone elses actions. I always do the same in the truck. My wife is always amazed how many times I have avoiding accidents, and the police, by being observate of my surroundings. I now drive the speed limit everywhere in the cages I own. But just can't seem to let off the throttle on the bike.
In any event, these bikes are heavy. All I can say is to do like unclekunkleand practice a little more. People say 'practice makes perfect', I say- ONLY PERFECT practice makes perfect!
