Forks, Frame and Triple Trees are identical or in the case of the forks interchangable.

The big item on that conversion is the wiring...

Oh youre changing over to roadking headlight and pulling the batwing? If so, no need to do anything, the parts will all bolt on best I remember. Harley doesnt do alot of different stuff on the touring bikes, from a ultra to any roadking, its all basicly the same bike except for the cosmetic and sheetmetal, but everything frame/motor/trans/front end and all are the same. Tank, fender trim, headlight and other parts will bolt up to other models.

Floridian46,

I have a 2005 Ultra and am thinking about doing the same conversion as you. RK or RKC
How about listing the part numbers of the required parts to do the conversion?
Let us know how it turns out.
Pictures if possible.

Thanks,
magnoliarunner

i have a new windshield due here tomorrow from cee bailey.....thats my last hope to get rid of the wind buffeting and if it doesnt work, RK conversion here i come....my only other option is to set fire to it (kidding)..
i hope that i can sell my take off parts on ebay for enough to take up the slack....since i want a black nacelle, maybe someone with a late model police bike will swap me the tank etc, that i need....i bought a factory parts book and trying to decide if i want to jump on it...im down to one bike now, so i need to get my ducks in a row, so that i dont have much down time and miss riding, as i ride most everyday....i have a brand new corbin solo seat that will no longer fit also and i will probably replace it with a police seat...back to the drawing board....thanks again to the forum members that keep giving me advice...

magnoliarunner...not to be a nay sayer...but the parts for a conversion are quite extensive. I just converted from a RK to a Ultra. I probably had over 200 part numbers. Many were nuts, bolts, screws, etc. However, the main items were the tank, tank console, nacelle, upper for cover, windshield, speedometer, main wire harness, and front wire harness will all have to be replaced when going from a EG to a RK. There are many, many more nickle-dime items that only a parts manual will list. If you are going to do this, plan on at least a month to gather all the parts. Even then dealer doesnt stock all the very minor parts. Ebay is a great source to get the main items as listed above. I sold all my take off RK stuff on ebay and bought most of the big ticket EG items there as well. I spend nearly three months on my conversion, but 4 weeks I was waiting on the painter and about two weeks of downtime waiting on a 10$ part from the dealer.

gosh, its too bad i didnt know about your project when it was in progress, we could have made a painless swap...oh well, im waiting on the fedex truck to bring my new windshield and hope it works...i could go to a tall windshield and look thru it, but id rather not ride than do that..
