Its pretty hard and after a few miles gets uncomfortable. I find im always having pressure on it (always leaning back) and the pad is small and hard, so it gets to me after a bit.
Anyone have a similar experience, and can recommend a more comfy option?
Thank you.
PS, if it uses the same mount that would be a bonus

In my experience, and I had that exact same backrest, the only thing that fixed it was going to the adjustable one. And no, it doesn't use the same mount, unfortunately. Nothing worse than a painful 'backrest'.

thank you for reply! Is this the exact one you meant?
I had one like yours and liked it well enough - although it was best when I sat up straight! I now have the integrated backrest that came with my Mustang Wide Tripper Solo, and the combo is - for me - perfect.
I have the same one as yours, but in FLHX version. Works well and never experienced back soreness from it. Are you sure it's not something wrong w/your back (medically)...??
No, I'm talking about the adjustable backrest receiver bracket under the seat. You need a pad like the one you show. That one is for the angle adjustable bracket that goes under your seat. Won't be a cheap fix, but you can most likely sell your old bracket and pad to help offset the cost.
I've had 3 different backrest's and none of them were comfortable until I bend them to make them fit me. I will have to say that the Day Tripper Wide Solo had the best one of them all but the seat not so much. I purchased a new Mustang backrest for my Mustang Sport Touring seat but I've had to bend the crap out of it but I know have it where I can use it all day long if necessary !
