I'm on my second set on second bike. On my vrod they are quite loud but that's because the exhaust stops in line with my head. The ones on the road glide are mellow. At least to me. Was out all day yesterday and at 65 I can easily hear the radio over the exhaust. I think the wind effects the sound more then my exhaust
They are only obnoxious if you think a deep rumbling Harley is obnoxious. I love mine. I have had pipes that are much louder and some that are quieter. My stereo is in the front of the bike, exhaust in the back, so I can still hear my stereo fine. Wind is more likely to keep me from hearing the stereo than any exhaust I choose.
Regardless, pipes are like women. Everyone likes something different.
I AGREE to the statement above! (Pipes & Women)
I run the CFR's with the V&H Dresser Duals on my 2014 SGS and love the Deep throaty sound of them.....But to each their own
For those who are using them, who's tune are you using?
I have power vision, with dyno tune and runs great

i have my CFR's paired w/ dresser duals and now 570 gear drive cams. there is nothing quiet about the setup. @ idle its loud and deep. hammering the throttle its loud and deep. @ cruising speeds its loud and deep. see a pattern?
i can still talk to my girl at any time (dammit) the sound is behind the bike. as for audio i dont have a problem but w/ 4-6x9's & 2- 7'' i would hope i could hear it lol
i have ran many setups and this is by far the best i've ever had. i will agree to the muscle car sound. these pipes are not a suddle or moderate slip on when you have an open header. with my stock header it was a great mellow sound IMO but i did not want mellow.
2014 FLHTK. the real deal CFR's with stock headers and cats. I got the tune for my Power Commander V from CFR through my vendor Iron Aces Speed Shop.
I love the sound and it is different from anyone around here so far probably because they are hard to come by and in high demand. That should tell you something people vote with their dollars. I like the hybrid Harley/small block Chevy sound. Go to youtub and find some examples. I decided on CFR based only on numerous samples on Youtube videos. It was the right slip on for me I am a muscle car addict
My CFR with rush ceramic headers, IMHO is the best sound of all I've heard.
Of course, even stock harley I enjoy....but the CFR w rush...!!!
Loud, yes. But deep muscle car type not loud coffee can exhaust type
Just got my CFR's in the mail a few days ago. Will pair with dresser duals and a power vision and Kuryakn Mach 2 intake. I have a PCV i decided not to use and plan to sell (250) if anyone is interested. I bought it from Iron Aces and haven't done anything with it.
13 FLHX
Any slip ons with stock exhaust and cat are pretty mellow, remove cat and things start to amp up the volumn, add cams and a good tune and its amazing how the exhaust changes. How much you would like to hear is the question.
Good luck.
