2006 Electra Glide Police, 70,000 miles, and stock.
I recently bought this bike from my city, rode it a few days no problems. Drove about 20 miles to dealership, and noticed of the way home at stops and low speeds it was sputtering and almost stalling.
I have drained tank, added non ethanol and seafoam, tested injector wires with noid light, replaced plugs, TPS, cleaned IAC w/ carb cleaner, and still nothing. It wont even idle for a minute now.
I posted in mechanical forum, and got no love. Just looking for some help before taking it to dealership.
Is it throwing any codes? Start there. Probably something simple like the speed sensor or crank position sensor. Sounds like it's getting spark and fuel.
Check your spark plug wires and coils. The HD engine seems to be temperamental to a partially bad wire. Check the coils for resistance, both should have something for resistance and both coils should be somewhat close. If one resistance is way less than the other it might be bad. A good coil has resistance.
Another possibility is the fuel injectors. Some of the 06 touring bikes had 8 degree injectors. These were found to cause "drivability issues" and where replaced under a service bulletin with 25 degree injectors. When the 06 my wife rides was mine I replaced the 8 degree injectors with the new 25 degree injectors. The service bulletin had expired by the time I found this to be a potential problem so I had to buy and install them myself. Here is a link to the service bulletin. You can use a flashlight to check the part number to see which injectors you have. Don't know if this has anything to do with your problem but it's something to be aware of if you have an 06 touring bike. https://www.rbracing-rsr.com/downloa...jectorswap.pdf
