What you have ought to run pretty good. I would make sure I figured ought what was going on before I started swappin and and doing stuff.
I have a CVO Road King. I put pipes, mufflers, cams, and had some motor work done. When I got it back it was late November and I only had a chance to get it out for a couple of quick short runs. It seemed great. We had a bad winter and I couldn't get it out till I trailered it to Bike week in Florida in Mar. It ran crappy, not like I remembered. I called my builder and he said maybe I got some bad gas. I got back and took it to him but it was still cold and he couldn't find anything. Said bring it back when it warmed up. I decided to try and figure it out. Took it somewhere else and got tuned, took it to another dealer and got tuned again. Got pissed and told the dealer to put a new cam in it. Went to sturgis. Stopped by the DynoJet tent and talked about switching from my Harley tuner to a Power Vision. They wanted to put it on the dyno to make sure there wasn't something else wrong. There was some guy standeding there. He asked if he could look at my bike for a second ? I said sure. He walked overbent down and looked in behing my air cleaner and said, "There's your problem, you are missing that little black rubber cap that goes on right there" and pointed. He told me to hand on and went and got a cap. They cleared my codes and the bike ran way better. He told me that it had probably hickuped and blew the cap off after sitting in the garage over the winter when I started it in Florida. He told me I probably ought to get it retuned.....
I asked him how come the two different dealers didn't figure it ought when they tried to tune it ? He just smiled and said he didn't know. I think he was just being a nice guy. He said he had been doing it for a long time.
So something as simple as an air leak messing up the fuel ratio cost me a bunch of money and time.
A really good tuner can save you a lot a money

I have verified there are no leaks including the rubber cap. I seriously believe it is a tuning issue. I was already considering some power upgrades and now seems like as goo a time as any. I will do the cams and head work and good dyno tune first. The 107 kit will wait for a bit.

Did you unhook the stock O2's. If not that could be most of the problem. I have seen this done several times. Here is a map that will work if bike is ok and PCV is good. Also has Autotune table and new timing map.

All I know is this thing is anemic as it sits and I am very disappointed in it right now. I will throw whatever I need to at it to make it perform.
Sounds like you have a good solution. There is no substitute for a known and proven package of parts and porting! Look forward to hearing how you get on with your 'new' bike.

Always keep in view what you are really trying to achieve with your touring bike. Then go for what components/mods will give you the best bang for the buck. Otherwise you might wind up with a rocket that is a pain to tour on.

My point wasn't that there might be an air leak..... My point was that there are a ton of idiots around. If the bike isn't running as good as it should with what you got, it might be in your best interest to find a really good Mechanic/tuner that can check it out before you start swapping stuff out....
Or you can maybe end up like me and dump a bunch of money / time and find out later it was something stupid And the idiots at the 2 different dealerships tried to tune mine and didn't even figure the numbers were so far off something was wrong.

I agree with the getting jacked around by dealership on the tunes. If bike was running well when you put the pcv on and then it didn't then most probably the map was off. The map I sent you will work. It may not be 100% optimum, but it should run well. Like I said if it doesn't you have something else wrong. Try it an if it doesn't work let us know the symptoms of the problem and someone can help you figure it out. My experience with dealerships making changes to the maps is not good. They may be able to dyno it and fix, but just making random changes would be a rare win with one of them.

I appreciate the map. I am waiting on the auto tune. I am a bit surprised Fuel Moto charged my card but no ship notification or the updated tune they were supposed to send. I will call tomorrow and find out what is going on.
As to the simple stuff I have been all over the bike and find no apparent issues. The 02 Sensors are currently unplugged. Tomorrow I will unhook the PC and plug the sensors back in to verify I don't have another issue besides the tune. I have been down with a screaming case of the Hershey's this week and just now feeling human again.

I will have to drag everything out to see about loading the map. I am assuming I can save the current tune while doing this.

Again no matter what I find I am certain I am going to have the heads worked and the cams swapped. I like to ride 2 up and tour so I will not get to wild. Reliability is one of the importiant keys to this build.

For two up riding you really can't beat a built 120 with 140HP........

Mine doesn't run out of steam until 6400rpm but likley due to the 662 camshafts. Furthermore and even more surprising, it's entirely tractable doing parade routes, sitting in traffic and perfect for cruising at 100, if you're so inclined.

Do it once, do it right and never look back.
