Not surprising, I wonder why folks are always puzzled about this. They need to make a profit, which means buy from you at below market, and of course they would have to sell at market.

What's the mystery?

Thats crazy!

I traded my 2010 Fatboy Lo with 5 on it, my dealer gave me 13k for trade. I will note that the finance manager is a friend of ours and knew how well the bike had been taken care of and all the extras on it.

My local dealer wants to make 4-5k on a deal ..... Can't blame them, but you would think if you make $2500-$3500 a bike .....think of the inventory you could keep moving thru the doors. And the bolt on stuff is marked up huge so you can make up some there.... Sit and wait for the big hit ...... Or take some short deals and keep the inventory movin

seems like a fair price to me...they have to service the bike and get it ready to sell. then they have to floor plan it, pay the salesman, the finance guy, the sales manager, etc.. they all get a little of the pie. you have a nearly 5 year old bike, and you are getting around half(maybe more) of what it sold for new. don't like the deal-move on...no need to **** and moan and call the dealer a stealer/thief.

Don't you just love how people put words in your mouth? What is it with forums, anyway? Always reminds me of politicians backtracking when they forget we have them on video. In forums, people claim things were said, like you can't jump back a few posts and verify what was actually said.

I see the use of the word 'stealer' here a ton, and many times it's just in passing.
