It is going to make noise on decel just like downshifting....
It's the same thing.
It's called engine braking.... when the throttle is closed, the engine will seek to get back to idle, the momentum of the machine keeps the RPMs from dropping straight off, and that is where the noise comes from.
I hear Goldwings are much quieter.
I'll pass on the gold wing, but your comment makes sense, someone mentioned I could tweak the gas off throttle, does that make any sense?
Or don't let the engine rev down as your downshifting, I keep my clutch in and don't let it out between gears most of the time. You'll eliminate all the pops, girglings etc completely. Brake pads are cheep and it's a lot easier then releasing the clutch 4-5x.....just a suggestion.

Please don't do that.
Yes it is harder on brakes.
But you are NOT in gear, and not in control.
Nobody has ever correctly been taught to ride or drive that way.
I'm not flaming, but it is still cheaper to let the clutch out than to buy brake pads.

Thanks SafetyMan, appreciate your input, valid point and thanks to all for comments. Maybe I'll get used to the wada, wada, wada, seeing that I created this beast, now if I can get some of my MPG back LOL.

Mine sounds like blub, blub, blub and yours is wada, wada, wada,. Weird, when my wife starts to bitch all I hear is blah,blah,blah..... Coincidence?

Seriously, this is an unsafe way to ride. No offense but that's just bad technique.
What kind of rumble are you talking about? My Streetglide 103 pops on decell at the same rpm slowing down every time, I kind of like it. Vance and Hines pipes and SERT tuner. I kind of anticipate the pops as I'm slowing down.
