I just bought my first Harley, a 1995 Tourglide Ultra Classic that has been slicked down to a Roadglide basically. It came with a Lepara silhouette solo seat and it's ok for about 30 minutes then it gets uncomfortable. I have looked for double seats for that model but the options are basically couch cushions and I'm looking for something a little more sleeker or sportier. Will later year model seats fit? I have a friend with a 2010 Streetglide that says his factory seat is super comfy and I like the way it looks. I know some fab work on the tank mount may be necessary and that's no problem
Your bike was introduced 20 years ago, so you are better off looking at the long established seat brands, such as those SafetyMan listed. If you see a style you like with one of them call to see if they can make one for your model.
I modified a later seat to fit my 96 ultra. You cut both sides of the pan starting about 4 in. back and 8 in. Long. Go from nothing to 3/4 in. To nothing for 8 in. The 3/4 at 4 in. front beginning of cut and about 8 in. from front of seat. Pull cover tight and re staple. Remove rear seat bracket. JB weld 2 1in. long bolts to match the holes in the fender bracket. I did not bend a frt seat bracket yet but seat fits great and looks great. I will make frt tank bracket later.
