I"ve had my Frogs for 6 years with no leaks and no melting.
You could buy a set of boot gators for $45 and not have to worry about the melting and your boots won't get wet either.

No issues with my Hi-viz suit. It is heavier weight so it doesn't flap in the wind like my frogg's did. It's not cheap, but it's a good suit. I paired it with some cheap, but well made, Tourmaster boot gaiters. Couldn't be happier.

I have a Tourmaster rain suit. The legs have heat resistant panels on the legs, so no melting. Mine has lasted about 8 seasons now.

I've had the $99 packable HD rain suit for 7-8 years now....been through a number of showers...longest was Virginia to Michigan... no problems, no issues. Keep it packed in bag just in case. Has the heat shields on the inner pant leg and never had an issue with heat/pipes/burns. Best $100 i've spent!!!

I use the HD set that folds up into itself...into the hood and is very small when done. It has heat shields on inner legs----no melting yet. I'll be honest---I don't ride alot in the rain---so, I don't need some super expensive rain suit that withstands hurricane force rain for 2,000 mile trips. It was lower $100 range and is just fine for me---I even used the pants as cold weather pants a few months ago while riding thru Canada because I didn't pack correctly---they did just fine...no melting. I think its the same one Spartanden has and I agree with him..............takes up so little space

My local shop has rain gear on sale this month for 15% off AND I have a lot of royalty reward points saved. So this weekend, I'm going to pick up the orange and black hi viz suit. And, Cycle Gear has overboots on sale for $14.99.

Last weekend, I got caught in a heavy downpour 50+ miles from home. That rain comes down like pellets and stings. While the bike handles like a champ in the rain, I was soaked and miserable.
