Default Ape Hanger Question?

Thinking of doing a mild change for touring comfort. 10"-12". I don't want to go any higher. Can I use stock wiring & cables? Also, any recommended brand of bars & reasonable prices? Thanks.

I have 12" KST Kustom Mayhem bars on my Road King and like them a lot. Have a set of 9" apes waiting to go on my Road Glide that supposedly you do not need cables or wiring. Don't think you will get away with 10" without having to at least change some cables.

I used 10" yafee classic bagger apes. Cost was $89 on ebay. People say they measure closer to 12s. You'll have enough slack for wiring but not clutch if you want to run it in stock location. You can get away with brake line if you tilt master slightly down. I ran stock brake line and clutch initially but I have since replaced since it was bugging me

I did the yaffe 12" mmb bars. They actually are more like 14". I really like the height but I wouldn't do yaffes again unless you really like the points. Getting the wires through there is a pain... I would do hill country or something else with nice smooth bends.

Edit, realized you are on a road king. My response doesn't apply. I need to pay better attention.

12" Yaffe "Classic Bagger" Apes here, with Magnum Sterling cables and CVO TBW twist grip sensor. LOVE the new setup.

The Yaffe bars were $94.99, delivered, from Dennis Kirk.

When measuring for the ideal (translation: most ergonomic) hand/arm positioning, the new bars should position your wrists BELOW your shoulders, but ABOVE your elbows.

Good luck!
