I just bought the 4 inch racing slip ons from a guy but not sure how to remove baffles..they are supposed to be removable but cant find instructions anywhere. Does anyone know how they are removed?
There should be one or two screws holding each baffle in place. Remove them, then try pulling the baffle out with pliers. If the baffle is secured by rivets, you'll need to drill them out.
I recently changed baffles on a pair of Python pipes. It was a challenge. Even with the screws removed, the baffles were still frozen in place by carbon. I pulled the pipes off the bike, stood them up vertically, sprayed a liberal amount of PB Blaster (penetrating oil) inside and allowed to soak overnight. The next day I tapped each baffle out of the pipe using used a long pry bar.
