Default OK Bryan TTM, I crossed over to touring. Now what?

I traded my Sporty in on a Street Glide as I have always admired their lines, and will bring the bike home in a couple weeks as it won't arrive till the 20th.For now i'll install some R/H slip ons, the A/C, anda tuner. I know I have an addiction for power, and a common desire to customize. So tell me what i'm in for now?

I actually looked through the new HD catalogue yesterday and my firstcomment was, holy sh*t, I thought they had a lot of parts for Sportsters. I couldn't believe how many toys, mods, and bling bling items the moco makes for these touring bikes. I guess they've studied the demographics and know where the bulk of their money comes from? Obviously many of theirdeep pocket buyershave baggers cause there's gotta be 4x as much stuff available for baggers than other rides. Cha Ching!

Anyways, looking forward to getting this thing under me and doing some touring with it real soon, I do admire the looks and style of your bike with all that you've done to it Bryan. The model pictured with your bike also looks good!

Welcome to the baggers! Now get out your check book and prepare for the addiction. There is so many things that can be done to these bikes and you will read so many things other people here are doing to their bikes. With in the first 4 months I spent over $4,000 in add ons for my Street Glide. I am finally to the point now where I have a very short list of things I have not made my mind up on yet.

The bike is at a place where I am happy with the looks, I can change the seat and add backrests and ride 2 up comfortably, and it has more power and "snap" to the throttle than most of the bikes I ride with.

It all takes time and money, you just need to decide how much of each to spend.

Ride Safe,

Mike

I've got news for you Pal.......the MOCO goodies are the mere tip of the proverbial iceberg. Have an ultimate vision of what you want your bike to look like and start a list. That list will change many times, as new items come to the fore. Some guys want the performance first, then the bling and others just the opposite. It's all part of the fun.......just bring a checkbook, and don't be afraid to ask questions or get your hands dirty!

Enjoy!

Yeah buddy! You will want to start spending money right away. Try to refrain a little, until you know what you want your bike to be. Like Mr Wonderful said, make a list, you'll be surprised at how many times it will change Mine has changed a few times, but I'm getting it narrowed down to just a couple more things I really "have" to have. All I have to say is, congrats, welcome to bagger world and good luck!

ok...congrats...first call Corbin and get a DualTour with 2 backrests...then go ahead and get the complete Rhinehart system with O2 bungs...call Bart and have him ship you the DTT...buy only a few tidbits from the moco, like an oldstyle tank badge and some pass streamliner boards(save the pegs and also get a short 360 rotation highway peg mount)...you'll want to change your grips and levers, go to the hardware store once you have the bike and buy chrome fasteners from them...take a few off(count how many are the same you'll need), go to the store and get em...dont listen to $hit from the dealer, just buy the bike with no warranty and ride off...then as you want more power we can easily add it....glad you sold the sporty, baggers are cool...

but thats a good start that wont kill the checkbook too bad...more to come so stay tuned
