Just a "Heads Up" when changing the exhaust, Ar filter and Fuel management that the EPA is really trying to crack down on modification and looking to fine any shop/dealer/dyno tuner who does so on '06 and '07 models. Especially in California. My dealer won't touch my bike now that I've changed the Exhaust, Air filter, and Fuel management.
Looks like they want to implement "smog checks" on 2006and newerbikes. When/if so,I will be puting back my stock exhaust and remove the PCIII to smog check, then replace my goodies.
A SERT cannot be temporarily removed for such an exercise without swappingthe ECU to one without the SERT modification.
Just an FYI so you have your eyes wide open before you decide on anything.
Personally, If I knew before I bought my '06 I probably woulld've bought an older bike I didn't have to worry about it. FWIW
dont they have the state referee still in CA? I havnt been there in15 years so it may have changed. We used to have to go to the state referee when we supped up our motors to get a "pass" Never really had much problem...a modded bike motor properly tuned should run clean enough to pass.
Notreally too muchheat compared to my former 05 Heritage. Although really haven't had any warm days. with these outside temps, I wish it would generate more heat to keep me warm.
