Mine were vibrating due to the rubber bubbles splitting and wearing out too soon so I modified them by filling the bubbles with silicone, Then adding six rubber grommets 3/8" thick, Filled the centers with silicone also. Stuck em between the pan and the pad. Firmed em up and flattened them out real nice.They still absorb some shock/vibration.
I have a set of half moon, pan head style on my Road King. Drag Specialties makes them. Just a 4mil rubber pad glued to the pan. I don't feel like I get anymore feedback than the stock ones. I like them because I have long legs, and in my quest for room, they effectively lowered the boards about 3/4 of an inch. And, I just like the vintage look the pan styles add to the King.
