bought one, split it to mount under cowbell, dont like the results. has anybody ever tried to put one back to one piece ?? if so what did you use and did i work?? gonna try a 1/8 pipe nipple tonight when i get home ,, hell mabe it will work,, if not i guess i will just go buy another, just wanted it out of sight and kinda wanted to keep the cow bell,,not enough room under the side covers , space in front of the battery to small,. so i guess i will ditch the cow bell . bike 2005 ultra
thanks mike
Is this horn like the stebel nautilus where there is the small canister for the air and then the horn attaches to that? If so could the horn go on the firewall behind the rear cylinder and then the canister somewhere up by the battery?
I am thinking about doing a better horn as one of the winter projects...
I wanted a loud air horn and keep the cowbell also, Bought a WOLO Bad Max, equivalent to Stebel compact truck, separated the horn and compressor, no way its going under the cowbell without some serious modification to the cowbell. Just got the Stebel compact truck horn in the mail today, going to leave it alone and just find a place to mount it as is.

yes it is ,,it did fit behind the bell after the split, mounted the compressor in front of the battery under the seat, in the garage cold worked well, on the road hot not so well,, I think the comp, was getting to hot under the seat, IMO, so I took it off reassembled it ,,putting this one on the truck if it still works ,,waiting on epoxy to cure,, will buy another and remove cow bell and mount it there
Did you use the relay that was supplied. It must run thru a relay. I have tried several ways to separate and use with not much luck. I now have mine mounted to the front of the TP, under the flapper thingy under the back rest. Out of site and loud as hell, just the way I like it.
Bought a chrome Stebel last year and installed as is. Rubber mounted it as best I could because I heard that these may not last. So far ( including with a collision with a pickup truck,) and its still strong and loud! (Enough to make unsuspecting passerby jump!)

The horn is still complete. The only pic I have now is with other horns that I had mounted in the same place and that have been replaced by the air horn. The other horns that were there before, were mounted on a separate bracket that I fabed, and not to the TP. Hope this helps.

I installed the Bad Boy on my FLHX on the stock horn bracket, bought the Kuryakyn cover for the horn from J&P and installed it, looks good, very happy. Yeah, I would have preferred using the stock cow bell but it wasn't a happening thing, so this works fine. You might want to consider going this route.
I didn't have to use the relay that came with the horn...just plug and play, since the stock horn also uses a relay.
