Nice times. Hope your frames not bent. Be cautious of the top tab area where your crash bar mounts.

This thread got me thinking. Real world test for what your bike can do.
I was looking at the rules for the nearest strip, Sears Point. I'm going to need a Snell approved helmet, steel rivet gloves, and a fuel shut off. Going to have to figure out a shut off/petcock system since my bike is fuel injection

I admire those results and wish I "felt" I could try it again. I had no issues with a new '82 CBX and running 12.33, but see bad$ things happening today!!

keep posting

Not necessary. Your bike (every new bike) has one from the factory. Its a tip over fuel shut off. If your bike tips over, like being in a crash, there's a sensor that automatically shuts off the fuel. In fact, if you ever drop your bike and try to restart it, you'll find out. The ignition has to be completely shut off before the bike will restart. The tracks all know this. Otherwise absolutely no one with a stock motorcycle would be able to race. And since you're the tracks revenue......... well, you can bet when you go threw the tech lanes to get your number, you will be good to go.

What you NEED is that helmet, gloves, over the ankle boots, and a long sleeve jacket (some tracks require leather/textile). A stock bagger is no where near fast enough to require full racing suits or even leather/textile pants.

I ran my 09 SG with a 96" stage 2 last year ( got a lot of, "why would you do that" ).
Made four runs, and my best time was a 13.1 @ 98 MPH IIRC. I have a 107 now so next opportunity I get I will run it again.

My biggest problem was traction leaving the line. I did not drop air pressure though.

it's a shame that drag strips are becoming dinosaur-like. Epping is about 3 hrs from me, but i used to go for their Super Chevy show every year (and see and talk to Don Garlits as he hosted the show). Now that they hold a national event at Epping, i will at least visit it once a year. . ahhh, the smell of Nitro !!

I used to go to Connecticut Dragway in Colchester, but that's gone.

the closest to me now, is just over the New York border, Lebanon Valley (rather low budget, a bit amateurish).

sure wish they weren't so rare !

Lebanon Valley LOL the shut down is someones back yard. I always see someone sitting at their picnic table, slowing down after a run.

Wish more guys would run their Harleys at the strip and talk time slips, instead of the EZ way out talkin' dyno numbers...
Word.

I wish our "local" track was more local than 1.5 hours away, 2 to 2.5 with traffic on Wednesday nights...

Just back from the track for round 3. Blew up the front planetary on my drag car last week and putting that back together so figured I'd take the bike again. Was running off at beginning of night because I was winging it. Knuckled down and ripped off a 13.16 with a sweet 1.840 60ft! Oh so close to the 12.99.
