There is a noticeable improvement on heat reduction with the Dragos Dragula 2into1 pipe, ceramic coated inside & out. Still looks new too. I don't hardly ever think about heat since installing this system. The bike is so much more enjoyable. If that sounds like a plug for Dragos Dragula...it is!

Avoid Swian tech like the plague, use a company that coats inside and out, like HTC. If they only coat the outside, like Swain, the heat gets trapped in the base metal and heat stress/fatigue can crack welded joints.

Will it prevent the "blue-ing" on the pipes and even greatly reduce it??

My 2011 had 30k on it when I traded last year.

Pipes were not discolored at the head.

We ceramic coat all of our head pipes inside and out. In my opinion the inside coating is huge because it prevents the metal tubing from absorbing the heat. On the first bend coming out of the front cylinder, directly on the head pipe, we've seen 500 degree heat reductions on a CVO. We are confident in stating our customers will see a 300 degree heat reduction on the headpipe (not the heatshield). We use silver ceramic as it has been proven to be the most durable. It might dull a little over time but shouldn't discolor or flake off.

I was looking at some of those WCC Hell Bent Pipes that do not have heat shield. If you could get the inside ceramic coated would it prevent the outside from discoloring? Would it maintain the chrome where the headpipe and the cylinder meet?

Having mine coated as we speak with Cerakote. I should have it back today (fingers crossed). I will let you know what I think. On my 09 I perceived more heat with the FM stainless 2-1-2 pipe than with the stock pipe. Not sure why, which is what prompted me to get it coated.

Huge difference in heat going from '09 catless header to Fullsac ceramic coated Xpipe... Not so much having shields and mufflers ceramic coated...

I decatted my original exhaust and it lowered the temp, but adding Rush True Duals dropped it more. Search other threads for the actual heat drop, I provided data on my trials.
