If you only remove one baffle you will burn your head out on that side.
You will have too much back pressure on the other side and your bike will run like crap.
You can pull both baffles and either drill them out, or cut them down until you get the sound you want. Do Not Just Remove One Baffle, your just asking for a lot of costly repairs.
Or you can just take both baffles out to get the loudest sound.
I have bassani slip ons with Vance and Hines headers, I'm probably going to pull both out and see how I like it. If I don't possibly remove the packing on them and try that.

Ok thanks, that answered that question....None or both. I replied above to the kind I have but just to quiet.
I also have the stock gutted but to me it sounds like stock but gutted if ya know what I mean-ha! Although it does sound better.
Doesn't it run worse on low and mid range with both baffles out?

How easy is it to remove the packing? Better yet, how easy is it to put back on if I don't like that sound?
Guess I'm a noob cuz I don't know the difference in baffle and packing.....but I'm guessing packing wraps around baffle??????????
Just pull the baffles out and all your questions will be answered. If pulling them out and looking at them doesn't help it's possible you shouldn't be playing. Lot's of baffle designs out there. Nobody will truly know what is going on inside the can unless they had the exact same mufflers.
Whatever you do to one side do to the other side and you won't hurt anything. Any change in the baffles will result in a negative effect on how your bike runs but very likely so minimal you will not notice it. Only way to fix that would be to install something like BCT's (Big City Thunder).

Correct me if I'm wrong
It's a crap shot either way, mine has one bolt I need to remove then a latch to pull on. Use that to pull it out, depends on build up on how easy it it'll be. Placing back in could be easy or difficult
