Default Cush sprocket or conventional???

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find any info on this site or anywhere else on the old internet so here goes.

I just got my hands on a 2012 flhx, and the po swapped the rear wheel to a fat boy unit with a bolt on sprocket.

I am curious what the benifit it is?

I have never ridden a bike with Cush so I don't know what problems or benefits it comes with.

Are there different components in the drive line designed to work with the small amount of give the Cush would provide?

Thanks for the info.

07's did not have the cush drive and under the right conditions would sound like a can of rocks rattling around in there. Not sure there is a benefit to the swap other than different gear ratio. Mike

dont think it will hurt anything, but the cush makes for quitter smoother shifting.my 07 without it did make some awful drivline noises.

My 07 didn't bother me, but I really like my 2011 with it.

I pulled my rear wheel off to look at every thing. I think the rear wheel I have is from a Fatboy. If 09 is the same as 2012 I can fill you in on what mine needed to line up. Let me know.
