Default Kickstand problem? question

I have a '96 FLHTCI and my kickstand when down the bike always rolls forward until the kickstand is on the back of the stop. All of my other bikes the kickstand would go forward with the bike to the back. Is this a problem or is there a fix so the stand goes forward and the bike back? Just always seems like its going to fall over the way it is. Thanks

Both my 04 and 11 do the same thing. When I got the 04 I had the same concern then I looked at the bikes of my buddies and theirs did it too. Just make sure it is completely forward before putting the bikes weight on it and you'll be fine,

have the motor off and the bike in gear.

let the weight of the bike settle on the geartrain...then put the stand down and kick it forward.

make sure that the bike isn;t pointed down a slope

turning the bars may help find a more stable position

Pard...it's a Jiffy Stand. On your Gold Wing, it's a kick stand

My 2000 RK does it too and at first I thought it was due to the fact that it has been lowered 1.5", but apparently most if not all HD's do it.

My '48, '69, '72, 75' '81, '06, '10, and '14 did that. That's what they do. If i'm an incline, I park it in gear. And my bikes have kick stands, not jiffy stands. It just sounds ghay (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Dirttoo, it's called the "Harley Heartattack"! If your bike "always" rolls forward you must always park on a downslope. I always try to park pointing up to avoid this.
