When you get a rubbermount tightened up you will throw rocks at your softail. I have had them too. They are fine but they are too limited on clearance when cornering and the suspension isn't near as good when you have upgraded the shocks on a tourer, But you are right, you shoulda looked into it first,

OP, sucks you have to play "connect the dots." Like most have said, once you get it right they'll be no going back, you'll be all smiles! It's just the getting there that sucks! I'm guessing, along the way, you'll become the "go too guy" to smooth out a King! Keep us posted on your progress.

I've felt if very slightly in corners with bumps. It's very slight and really not a problem but I will be watching this thread closely. I wonder if it's worse with more weight? Wonder if more pressure in shocks or less, a little more tire pressure or less? Mine's not bad enough right now to want to change anything.

I'm thinking he should just get another softail and quit with the complaining.

Not at all old chap! Read my thread on bagger wobble, so you better understand what you have let yourself in for. It can be cured, believe me!

Sucks that you continue to have this problem. Save up some money and get a stabilizer. i installed a Bagger Brace by Phoenix Customs. A very well designed and precise piece. Love to ride the Road King pretty hard into those long sweepers, and with the brace installed the bike tracks and holds the line as tight as my old KZ900. One of the best things I have done to my 08 CVO Road King.

Even with the addition of a Bagger Brace, I still had an occasional wobble, but they were less frequent and less severe. This spring I replaced the swing arm bearings with a set of Aurora's when I needed a new rear tire. Problem gone. Brace is still on, also.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...le-solved.html

I had wobble only with that particular rear tire, wasn't there with the OE Dunlop and isn't there with my Dunlop American Elite. For about $45 you can pick up a set of the Aurora bearings and give them a try.

I checked alignment, steering head bearings, wheel trueness, shock pressure, and tire pressures. Never changed the first three and changes to the last two didn't help.

However, my last bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad (the wanna be road king), and that thing would wobble so bad it would make your *** pucker like an alter boy in a Catholic church.

Yup, mine did too, going straight if you took you hands off the bars it would start wobbling.
