Wobble King
Took Bike out this weekend for a quick trip to the mountains. Got two wobbles on way up.. On way back Bike felt unsafe and not under complete control the whole way home. I was in a head wind on way back but not real bad. It scared the carp out of my girl friend. She doesn't want to get back on bike now.
I finally got pissed off enough and called Harley. They said bring the bike down. I took it in today and they checked everything, EVERYTHING. Then they took it for a ride on a freeway sweeper that I told them it happens every time there.
Final answer from Harley, "The bike rides great and that is how these bikes ride!!!"
I could not believe it. I see so many Road Kings on the road and I know it is a popular bike. I have rode Softail all my life and this Road King is not livable. Why in the world would anyone want a wobbly loose bike?
So I am going to try putting the rear stabilizer on and see if I can live with the bike that way.. If not It is gone. I just cant afford the Stabilizer right now.
A buddy of mine was having issues on his 06 Ultra on his way to Sturgis this year.
Once there, he decided to have a True Track installed. As part of the installation, they check all the motor mounts.
His front motor mount was *toast*. Sheared in half. Luckily Rapid HD had a replacement, and I'm told they use better rubber now, but that, in addition to a True Track, he was a happy camper.
So I'd check the front motor mount, could be toast if its really that bad.
Lots of details left out. Year, Suspension setup, Tires, Wheels, tire air pressure, etc.

They are not the same, so don't confuse the two.
Not all dealer are created equal either. Same as the mechanics they have working on the bike.
If there really is an issue, a good mechanic should have no trouble finding it.
Maybe try a different dealer.
At the same time, ask one if you can test ride a Road King similar to yours just to see how one is supposed to ride.
Only reason I say that, is because the first dealer told you that it road great.
You need a known good bike to compare it too.
