Prior to adding the lower fairings to my Road King, that bike had the cleanest air of any touring bike I have ever owned, or even ridden. Since adding the lowers, I can feel just a touch of turbulance around my noggin. Not bothersome by any means, but it wasn't there before the lowers. I found this chrome half moon plate they sell for 25 bucks. They are all over ebay and Amazon. Its called a fork baffle. Has anyone used one of these things? Do they work? For $25 I'm willing to give it a try, but I have to believe plenty forum members have experience with them.
Please advise.
Mine's hanging on a nail in my shop if that's any indication of their effectiveness air-wise.
They're very good at removing $25 from your wallet, though.

Mine work, I use bofum.
Fangs push the air out, the lower baffle greatly reduces the air coming up and over the gas tank.
Add it on a cold day, ride before and after installing the baffle, and you will easily notice the difference.
BTW - I leave them on my 'King year round.
That's the one I have, it has a bowl "Rounded" shape that redirects the air down toward the motor instead of up and over the gas tank producing the infamous "Beard lift".
There was one on my bike when I bought it. It actually made the helmet turbulence worse for me. Bought the fangs and a Klock Werks windshield. That has improved the buffeting quite a bit.
I installed it, made a noticeable difference on the SG in terms of buffeting. In fact, I think the bike runs a little cooler with that redirection of airflow.
Lol, thanks for the fast replies. Conflicting input about the baffle, but everyone seems to like the fangs. I had the fangs on my FLH Shovel, and really liked them. Especially because they were a huge blast of chrome. I guess I will give the baffle a shot. I will look for a cheap used one first I guess. Then I will search for some fangs. I LOVE the lower fairings, so they are staying no matter what.
Thanks guys!
