Anyone have any feedback on how the triple tree wind deflectors work? I know they use to come stock on some touring models. Wonder if they are worth installing. See them for around $25.00 (chrome). Thanks!
I have had one on every Ultra I have owned, except this newest one. I believe they help with air coming over front of tank. I as a matter of fact bought one on eBay just a couple days ago. $15.00 with shipping for a black one!
Worthless. Try the 'Search' feature. there's been plenty of discussion surrounding those both positive and negative.
I've tried several times, on two different bat-wing bikes, both on and off for extended periods and I cannot discern any difference one way or the other.

Height of rider, type of windshield, type of seat, seating position will all effect how one feels the wind. What works for one person, may not work for another. I have noticed the difference. For $15.00-30.00 it is certainly worth a try. I have thrown away twice that amount on other things. Hell, that less than the cost of a "bad" meal!
Triple tree mounted air deflectors do divert air,but also the cooling air over the engine is disturbed.I guess it comes down to what temps you ride in.
Had the under the triple tree air deflectors on my '99 Roadking, tried one on my '10 Ultra limited. They do little or next to nothing in reducing the air coming from under the windshield or batwing fairing.
The fork mounted air deflectors on the other hand do a really great job in reducing the air flow and rain water coming from under the batwing fairing.

Just put one on last week. I'm 6'3" on a 2012 UC, stock seat, 10" HD Windsplitter windshield. I was really hoping for better results...unfortunately I can't tell if there's a difference or not. Worth trying for $25...no big deal.
Will have to try the fork mounted deflectors next. Really like the look of the new HD ones but apparently they will not clear the lowers at full lock. Any suggestions for ones that not only work (both function & fit), but look good as well?
