I just installed one last week - honestly, don't see any real difference. If anything, I'm getting a bit more updraft now, but it's so minimal as to be almost unnoticeable. Not enough to bother with taking it off...

One caveat, though - I installed the new style 'fang' fork mounted deflectors a few weeks back - THOSE work like a champ. Still get a good breeze but the buffeting is gone. Suppose I could always try combinations of stock windshield/8" LRS, fangs/no fangs, and triple baffle/no baffle...but frankly, I'm just gonna leave it alone for now.

Got one on my RK, with my shield, height etc, works great. The goatee don't lie! Won't fit on '14 + up due to brake line routing.

Thanks all for the input. I have a stock 09 RKC, and was wondering if it would help with any updrafts that dry out my contact lenses, from the wind getting past my sunglasses. My main concern installing one, is any engine cooling issues. If it doesn't work, at least it's a pretty piece of chrome.

Default chromes fangs too hot in summer

I did buy a set of the long chrome fangs for my ultra even though they say they wont fit they will if u bend the top forward a bit to clear the plastic tilt vents on the bottom of the fairing, they are great in weather under 70. but when its over 80 to 100 out u just dont get enough air, driving too hot, no idea how this affects the motor cooling either.
I cut 2 inches off the bottom and noticed a bit more air movement behind the fairing, no more air spinning in the sausage hitting u in the ears as the spiral sausage goes over your shoulders. I still wanted to make them shorter but didnt want to loose my cold weather fangs since it does get cold from mid oct till end of year and in spring doesnt really warm up till end of may.
so i took a piece of clear lexxan at work and started cutting out a cpl of blanks to bend matching the harley metal ones. they now just come under the blinkers. the spiral now coming over the tank runs pretty well along my thighs and not as strong as the over the shoulder spiral. u get just enough air behind the fairing to stay cool even with the lower fairing wings closed. think im gonna try another set about 2 inches longer tonight while at work. I do have the bowl baffle under the forks on as well havent tried riding with it off just to see the difference
the added bonus is the sound improvement trying to hear the radio without the flapping of the wind in your ears. I think the wind feeling is pretty comparable now to the changes on the 2014 models to solve the air buffeting problem

I started the exact same thread two weeks ago. I went ahead and ordered a chrome one from Amazon. $25 delivered. The filthy bastage waited a WEEK before he even shipped it, so I won't have it in my hand till maybe today or tomorrow. I am hoping it does just a little. I am not looking for miracles, just a bit of an improvement. Eveyone swears that the fangs are the true answer. Just not sure I want fangs on my Road King.

Put the fork deflectors on last year which reduced a significant amount off air. Added the triple tree deflector this year which eliminated almost all the air up from around the tank.
Have not tested during a heavy rain but hoping to stay a bit drier. It does reduce engine cooling and I feel more heat at times.

Do a search, you'll have pages of reports on this and the fangs, separately and combined -- lots and lots of info.

Will have to try the fork mounted deflectors next. Really like the look of the new HD ones but apparently they will not clear the lowers at full lock. Any suggestions for ones that not only work (both function & fit), but look good as well?
jescustomaccents makes some that will work.........
