Two part question.
Speedo is flickering and bike was shutting down and backfiring intermittently. Thinking it might be an earth problem I took the seat off and found the small wire coming off the main earth cable (as in the photo) has broken off from where it was bolted to. Would this cause the bike to play up like it was because it only looks like a secondary earth?
I have ordered a new earth cable/wire, do I need to remove the starter motor to get the other end or can I just cut the old cable as low down as possible and earth it somewhere else?
