I said right out of the gates when they first released the 14 wetheads to the public that you r the guinna pigs who jump on these the first year. All first year retooling models of any product have bugs. But nope. some people gotta have have have. Oh well. Your problem now. Suing is stupid.
I have no issues w/ the lawsuit but maybe I missed something....
what does the plantiff want out of this? a refund....did anyone see what his goal would be by coming out w/ a lawsuit?
And speaking as a guy who likes the MOCO and works hard to have a nice ride,my 14 (dripping glide...never heard that one!) had a pump failure while on the road.
All my issues w/ my 14 were because of that damned coolant system!
Even when it was working it really didn't cut the heat down enough that I was glad to have gotten the wet head. Especially, when it went into limp mode 1200 miles from home.
Heck...I would rather be slightly hotter rather than waiting for parts or leaking all over the garage, sitting around on a downed 25K or more bike.
So if anyone tells me that the bike functions as a non cooled bike when the coolant fails ill tell them it wasn't so in my case.
Just now we already have another thread regarding a 15 w/ liquid cooling issues.
Harley will likely settle out of court with Mr. Okon. Bad press is isn't good for sales.
Many class action lawsuits are settled.
Typical settlement:
Total settlement amount: $25,000,000
Legal fees and expenses: $24,500,000
class members: 25,000 to divide the balance.
Each member gets a $20 voucher good at any HD dealership, and for goodwill, a one year membership in HOG. For existing HOG Members, a one year extension

Isn't that the truth. I was a member of a class action suit in the 90's against Sprint. The attorneys made millions I received a $75 coupon to use with Sprint. who I left because of the issue.
Nobodies advocating that we go back to the 70's, it's more about the tendency to run snivelin' the "The Law" to deal with a minor design issue that will be taken care of through the natural course of events.
For those folks that could barely afford a $25-35k bike, this is not a "minor design issue," it's an unreliable or broken bike on which payments may be due every month. And when MOCO finally fixes this mess in a few years, the "natural course of events" will include fear of lawsuits stemming from selling a poor design.
Fear of lawsuits often are the only reason huge corporations do right by the little guy. Harley appears to have erred when designing the wetheads. It erred again when selling them to devoted customers. The plaintiff likely is doing unsuspecting purchasers a favor.
No need to just pick on the Rushmores. Have we gotten a quality compensator yet? Seems like they've been working on that one for a little while. Lousy quality didn't start with the 14's. Harley hasn't been a bike company for a long time. They're a clothing company that just happens to make bikes. Not so tough to make a quality t-shirt. Having said that, I sure do enjoy riding my 12 UC. I guess I drink my share of the kool-aid too.
I have a early 14 limited. No issues, all recalls done. The bike is under warranty, they are working on it. I am beginning to wonder how well the service department is. They should have called in someone from harley tech to help with it.

it isn't designed to cut your heat down, only the heat in the cylinder heads.
Practicality anyone who has half a brain between his ears knows that the potential and likelihood of first year model issues is significantly higher than after a couple years go by.
IF they had been around HD bikes, they'd also realize it's no big deal if the twin-cooled system takes a giant dump. It's back to air-cooled, no biggie...and it WILL eventually get fixed right.
I considered all this myself recently and went ahead and purchased a twin-cooled model.
THIS isn't what the civil court system is for, IMO. It seems to me to be a tantrum based on impatience.
