Default LRS Vented Fairing

Some of you may know we are designing our own Fairing right now.

I was hoping you could let me know what you think of the outer fairing so far?

No ad, just opinions. Thanks!

You know, here in the Northwet, I'd like to see a fairing vent that closed on the outside, like the old car air vents. I would not mind it being straight out when open and riding and venting, but when riding in the rain, it seems to me that being able to push a lever and have it sealed up on the front of the fairing just seems to make sense to me. Also would be nice to close it when in Idaho and running through 1,000,000 mayflies swarming around every bridge in the evening.

I have two LRS shields, one for the Road King and one for the batwing faring for the Road King. As practical as the new Harley batwing vent may be, the 14 damper works wrong for me. Nice to have a hidden vent damper, but I'd rather see a flush vent when closed. I like the idea of a vent, I just want to be able to close up that big ugly hole when it needs to be closed.

31 Packard vent - sometimes old is new

Or at least more of a hood scoop, sort of a tunnel funnel

Looks good!

FWIW, the bugs don't come through the 14 vent and hit me....

Is this for the '13 and older bikes or a replacement for the '14+?

I'm not a fan of any vent on the fairing...at this point, the results of the vent on the 2014's are questionable...some say it works, some say it doesn't, but man...to me, it's just butt ugly. Yeah, it's easy for others to see you got a brand new bike, but...

That said, I'll guess that this will fit only the 2014's and up with the OEM vent...not certain I'd pay big bux for an outer fairing with the only difference being the vent grille design...however, the modern Real Biker just LOVES spending that money on their toys, might be a big hit, profitable if the R&D costs aren't real high!

I'm guessing it is for non fairing bikes (road king) otherwise would need a new inner fairing if for pre 14 batwings... Unless you just want to blow air across your radio and back of gauges

Yes, this first round will fit non fairing bikes. Specifically, the Road King is what we are after first. Hopefully, RK owners will want to put the "newer" vented style on their older bike.

If you can fit a Garmin based GPS screen in the dash, you will have a winner!
