No regrets. I got very lucky. After totalling my Dyna in Nov 2012, I wanted a Road King. A white one would be nice if I could find one. Looked all over; no luck. I go to my dealer one day in later Nov '12, and there is a RKC, 2012,White Hot Pearl, ABS, security & cruise, sitting in the "used bike section" w/ 1068 miles. Got a great deal on it and I love this bike. It's a keeper.
I don't regret my Vivid Black, it's been fun. But I'm ready for a new color. I actually did it right, I bought a tour pack when I got the SG. I hardly ever used it, but it was nice when I did need it. I don't regret starting with a new SG, but I will likely buy used from here on out. Saying that, I just heard a dealer is selling 14s for zero down, .99% interest and a Stage One. Hmmmm.
I'd have went with a round muffler of some sort instead of my monster ovals. I'm digging the look of the stretched bags, but don't have the cash for replacing the mufflers before I even start the bag replacing process....
Same here...I do get alot of compliments with the ovals. Wonder how many complements I'd get with stretched bags?

Rode a 97 Tour Classic for a few years. The engine started dying while under power which was dangerous. I had it in two different shops three times and they could not find any problem.
I wished I had kept that bike and told the shop to replace parts until it ran. I have read numerous posts on the same problem and should have tried them all.
I was very happy with that black and chrome glide and would still be riding it if I would have taken the replace parts until it ran.
Don't feel sorry me I went through a Road King Classic to a Big Blue Pearl Street Glide which I currently ride.
Due to physical problems I do not tour anymore. I have been considering trying to get back to an EVO Softail. I started on an 87 Low Rider Custom and would like to head back that direction.
should have bought a garage queen instead of new. I think the difference in the newer bikes like 02 to present is really splitting hairs. 2007 set up the way i want it is nicer then any new bike off the floor.
maybe should have went with the best shocks instead of better shocks....

+1
Buying new, this bike has way too much in it. Between chrome and motor work, it is a big money pit. Could have saved a lot buying a bike a couple years old that some other sucker had dumped too much in.
But, I love the limited color - so, I'm happy.
I'm on my 4th set of shocks, yeah, shoulda shelled out the money for 944's the first time.
Also should have went with a Wood's cam first instead SE, but oh well, live and learn.....
Don't get me wrong I sill love my 2009 Road King And I've done a lot to it to get it where I want it.
However, If I had it to do all over again I would have purchased a different bike and 2009 was the last year it was offered, and it was the same price as the Road King!
The bike. The 2009 Electra Glide Standard.
The difference consist of a Fixed Fairing verses a removable windshield and the Road King and the black and Chrome engine and that's about it for the differences.
Not sure I'd change if I could go back, but I had a deal I was happy enough with to sign on a Charcoal Pearl SGS when the sales manager at the last second said he had other buyers for the bike behind me and would give me the same bike in Vivid Black for $1700 less. The 2015's were coming and he still had several in black coming from the factory. I do like black but my last two Harleys were black and kind of wanted a change. $1700 bought V&H Monster Ovals, an air cleaner, tuner, and a seat...... but I sometimes wonder if I did it right, especially when I walk away from it for an hour and have to get the quick detailer out again. I guess I'd polish it whatever color I had and do like black when it's clean so put me down for a maybe.
Would have bought a CVO in the first place instead of spending a boat load of money on my Ultras to have them be like a CVO. (Even though they were not) Now that I have had CVO's no regrets.
