Which is why I grabbed a beer and popcorn, so I could enjoy the show.
Myself, I DO run Amsoil in both the crankcase and primary, and am happy with it. And for the record, I run Spectro 75/140 in the tranny. But each to their own.
Run what makes you comfortable, any oil rated for the V twin will be fine if changed regularly. Now there is fodder for another subject as to what constitutes regularly.
One beer? Oil threads are usually good for a case.
Mobil 1 20W50 V-Twin Syn all three holes works for me.
I'm in!!!
+1,, worked for me for yrs now.. What I like about it is you can get it about anywhere and if You buy it in the spring or fall, (like it is now),, lots of auto stores have it on sale, I got 10 qts this spring for $7.95 per.
IMO any Major brand Syn oil would be good to use. Ain't a dollars worth of diff between them if it made for a Motorcycle.
I don't and wouldn't use car oil of any brand in my bike... just me..
AMSOIL works just as good as any other premium full synthetic oil, arguing over which one is the "best" is just splitting hairs. Use whichever one gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

It's a harley motor you do not lube any gears or oil a clutch so any 20/50 oil will be fine. Motor cycle oil or v twin oil just have modifiers for sheer stability and wet clutch application. The motor is full of roller bearings not a Babbitt bearing one like a automobile. Syn. Oil takes heat better than Dino oil but I road with someone running syn. Oil and I am running a cheap $3.98 a quart 20/50 Val. V-Twin and not because it says V-twin but it is cheap And in a 60 mile ride in 90 degree weather our oil was with in 1 degree of each other mine being cooler. If you feel better running a syn oil and paying a big price to do it do what makes you happy. I change my oil every 3500 miles no matter what oil I use and I have used Lucas,Amsoil,Red Line, Royal Purple, Mobil-1. All syn still dump it at 3500 miles it was a waist of money. My motor is not silent but sounds better than it ever has and oil did not cure it all I done other work in cam chest that was done when running syn that made very little noise and with my combo and my oil I have never been happier with my bike.
