Can't imagine good results taking it down more than 1 inch front and back.
If I had the money I would have used that relatively new set of shocks from progressive that provide the lowering while maintaining the ride. Next best would have been the reduce height rear touring shocks from HD. But the 1 inch reduction by the burley shackles works.
For the front, the Harley kit works for 1 inch. Burley and progressive are adjustable to 1.5 inches, I think. There is another approach that does away with the front fork fluid, I think, that my indy mentioned "after" I had bought and he had installed my harley front shocks.
I might consider the reduced width primary cover. But will waiting and ride the bike after getting my redone seat. Mean City indicates I should experience about 1.5-2.5 inches in improvement.

Get the Ohlins 2-2b. 12" eye to eye and a full 3.25" of travel. With 1" sag set you're really low and rides like a dream!

I guess I don't see how that would work.

I have a flat, non-dished derby cover, that doesn't take an o-ring, but was told the old style rubber printed paper gasket would work.

So I tried it. Turns out the end of the adjuster screw bumped the back of the derby a couple of times, no damage, but you can see where they made contact.

I fixed the problem by making my own seal out of a sheet of 3/16" rubber gasket material, effectively spacing my derby out a skosh, leaving plenty of room inside.

Easiest way to lower a touring bike seems to be to install Street Glide shocks. They will lower about 3/4" and still provide a factory smooth ride.

The Premium hand adjustables are much better than the air shocks.

Often times, lowering kits give not only a slammed look...but also a slammed spine.

Next alternative, for a good ride, lowered look, and better control is a call to Motorcycle Metal.

The more that I think about it...

That was on my 2011...

The '14 has a hydraulic clutch, thus, no big center stem for the adjuster.

Don't know why that didn't dawn on me earlier.

Carry on... Sometimes I'm a dumbass. But at least I admit it when I am.

Default Lowering headaches!

I own 2013 ultra, I knew Ineeded it lowered from day one. I had my seat custom done, with gel put in, and trimmed down as much as It could. Next I made the mistake of trying Road Six lowering kit, total garbage for that bike, tore my shock boots and even started cutting into actual shock bottom!! Had them set in second hole but even first would have not worked out. So now I tried L.A. Choppers kit, I didn't even install them, knew just by holding them in position they were junk too. Maybe these cheap fixes work for other models but not the Ultra with air shocks. My fault for cheapen out in first place, so just installed Progressive 944 shocks They lowered the seat not the bike, about 1 to 1.5 inches with the sag. I ride two up often and have not had a problem with wheel hitting fender which is what I was concerned about, but had to try something and so far so good. These shocks are same length as stock, 13 inches, but these get your feet closer to ground. There is and there is 4 adjustment positions to try according to weight etc.,And for me the plus is no more air pump !! With the stock Shocks, I was on tip toes, and hated it. Long story short do your homework first as it could get expensive in long run. Good luck
