Default narrow profile outer primary cover

Has anyone had an experience switching over to the narrow profile outer primary cover The Motor Company markets? It's part of the "low" series of touring bikes they recently announced, but they are selling this part and a inspection cover to match as stand-alone items as well.
Continue to look for any edge I can get in adjusting the bike to me. a relatively expensive item in my book for what it offers.

I guess I don't see how that would work...

The center of the derby is going to be in the same position.

MAYBE the shape is different, and less bulky.

I have a flat, non-dished derby cover, that doesn't take an o-ring, but was told the old style rubber printed paper gasket would work.

So I tried it. Turns out the end of the adjuster screw bumped the back of the derby a couple of times, no damage, but you can see where they made contact.

I fixed the problem by making my own seal out of a sheet of 3/16" rubber gasket material, effectively spacing my derby out a skosh, leaving plenty of room inside.

The shape is different, with both the primary and derby cover being narrower. Haven't been able to find out how much narrower though, and with it costing about $450, not sure the cost justifies the means.

Local Harley dealer knew nothing about either part, didn't even know they existed. I'll be interested in replacing g the OEM primary cover and derby cover, but only if there is an appreciable difference.

The more that I think about it...

The '14 has a hydraulic clutch, thus, no big center stem for the adjuster.

Don't know why that didn't dawn on me earlier.

Carry on... Sometimes I'm a dumbass. But at least I admit it when I am.

It fits '07 and later. With or without hydraulic clutch

Like a previous poster indicated - how much a difference is the key question for that much money.

Screw locations are different, different shaped cover.

I'd like to see one on an '07. I only have my experience to draw on.

Kinda looks like the derby cover is actually smaller.

I guess...
