starter clicking.....

Default starter clicking.....

when i push the starter button i get a series of rapid clicks then the bike fires up. any thoughts? thanks, dave.

........and make sure that the connections at the battery are clean & tight. Sometimes, a connection gets loose, especially if you have had any work done that required disconnecting the battery.........always check those connections......

thanks guys, ya i had checked the conections. batt is 5 years old and i dont use a tender so thinkin i'll replace it for peace of mind anyway and see if thats the prob.

Well start by cleaning the battery terminals at BOTH ends.
Sometimes the negative gets a little corrosion under the terminal
down on the frame.
Then charge and load test the battery. If weak change it out.
After above if still does it, could be the start relay or just time
to pull the starter, open it and clean and maybe even sand down the
brushes. If worn too far replace them.
