Default Vance & Hines Monster Ovals

-- Oops. Not so fast. They're still available. --

Model # 16743 -- These fit the 2008 and earlier Touring models. My bike is a 2009. I bought these on the representation that they would fit the 2009, but they really don't fit right. They'll go on, but I would not recommend them for the '09 and later bikes. I've decided to sell them and will be replacing them with model 16753.

When I purchased them, there was some damage in shipping. I'm attaching a picture of the damaged muffler. The dent is on the bottom of the muffler and I do not notice it. I'm not happy it about it, but hopefully you'll get a good enough deal that it won't both you.

I would not be replacing these mufflers if they were the correct model for my bike. Since they're not, I thought I'd see if anyone here would like to get a real bargain on a scratch and dent kind of deal.

I'm asking $250 plus shipping, but will consider reasonable offers.

That's just a dent in the heat shield, which you can order from V&H and replace.

That is correct. V&H will replace the heat shield. The reason I am selling is that I would need to get two replacement heat shields, not just the one, to resolve the fitment issue.

Also, the dent is not generally visible when the muffler is on the bike. One has to bend down and lean over to see it. You can certainly find it, but a person doesn't just notice it without looking for it.

SpiderPig bought these MOs, made immediate payment and then, as luck would have it, found some '09 MOs that will fit his bike better. Although he has made payment and is willing to honor his commitment to me, he has asked that I see whether I can find a different buyer. That makes sense, and I really appreciate his integrity.

So . . . if anyone is interested in these mufflers they are available again. I really do recommend them mostly for someone with an '08 or earlier since that's what they were designed for. I think SP was going to trim the heat shields to make them work with his '09.

AtticusFinch. You have a PM. I'm seriously interested in these. I'm in Montana, and I have an oldy but goody that they would fit fine. PM me, and let's see if we can close the deal.
