Thinking about a sheepskin cover as I have heard over many years they help tremendously in our SE GA summer heat.
Who has them, how do you like the cover and where did you get it from? I want a custom cover fitted for my Road Zeppelin seat, not something you just throw over it.
Saw the ones at Black Sheep Trading but don't know anything about the company. (Why won't it let me insert a link!)
FYI - I already use UA underwear or compression shorts depending on the ride length. Butt still gets sweaty and uncomfortable in the summer heat. I've also tried the bead rider and about half way through a 500 mile trip, felt like I was sitting on a pile of rocks, butt hurt like Hell! It had to go.
Been riding for 45 years and have tried every trick in the book except for a sheepskin.
I have toured with a piece of sheepskin for years. It keeps you cool in the summer and warm in winter.
Mine is just a hunk of skin I throw over the seat. A buddy and I went together on a sheepskin rug and cut the individual skins apart.
I don't know anything about one made to fit. Mine doesn't.
I like mine but the wife hates how it looks so I only use it on all day trips or longer.
Thanks ohioflhs! I will probably only use mine most of the summer. 100 degrees and 100% humidity down here is killer. Especially if your stopped for any length of time with the seat in the sun.
Black Sheep has pic of one they made for a RZ seat that looks great except for the color (I don't care but you know how wives are!) but they have other colors. Going to try and give them a call on Monday.
I have the 3-piece sheepskin set from Black Sheep Trading Co. Love 'em....just rode thru a downpour yesterday on a Ladies Only Ride....everything else got wet except for the sheepskin! Water will not penetrate. Well worth the money if you only want the seat cover.
for any Canadian members looking for sheepskin you can sometimes get them from Costco or order online from Winnipeg. a little more expensive than they are in the US, I paid 60 bucks for one that measures 2.5' wide and 3.5' long. you can get them in pretty much any color as well, I chose onyx black.
