Default Tank Lift Install (Pics)

On Sunday I installed one of DK Customs 1 1/2" tank lifts with the deluxe option (raises the rear also).

Install and instructions were straight forward and took about 30 minutes doing it by myself. Would have been easier if... A. I had someone to help or B. If the tank hadn't been almost full.

Certainly gets the tank up off the rocker boxes. Haven't been able to ride yet so I'm not sure if it makes any difference in wind or heat. Raising the rear does change the seat angle so I have to get in a few miles to see how everything feels.

Before and After shots from each side.....

Why can't I get the text before the pics!

Nice! Besides a little less wind, it makes it easier to clean.

Yes shrubs it does! At least you can actually get to the rocker boxes!

Did the exact same last Sunday morning. Wife and I did a 100 mile ride that afternoon.
Love the new look and love seeing more chrome. Took about half an hour and enjoyed working on it.

Quick question to those who have put the front tank lift only on. Do you still have a useable 6 gallons of gas in your tank? A friend put the front lift on, claims his gas gauge isn't accurate now. The range goes down very fast with about 40 miles to go (it drops 30 miles in range with about 5 miles of riding).

I installed the rear lift also, but with the 2" front lift kit. I don't pay much attention to the range indication until I get down to the low indication, but I do notice that it seems to drop off quicker once you get down to 1/4 tank. Overall, I still trust the gauge.

I hadn't been able to ride enough to check mine yet but I installed both front and rear also with 1 1/2" in the front.

As a general rule I don't pay much attention to the range indicator anyway and by the time I'm at 1/4 tank, ready for a butt break + fill up....
