Welcome to MT. Be safe out there I am starting to see deer carcases on the sides of the road here and there so be careful. If you are able get off the road by 8 PM. Deer here in some parts are thick as fleas after dusk.
Kevin, that is great. Beautiful MT, and loved riding the Bear Tooth.
Had some very good food at the Soda But Lodge in Cook City. Salmon was to die for.
Kevin,
When you are riding, about where do you keep you RPM at?
If I keep RPM higher, around 3500, or so I keep my temps down a bit. But just not used to riding with that RPM level. I normally am at around 3K DOWN to 2500.

Thank you. Yeah, we always try and be off the road by 6pm at the latest....every now and then we go a bit later, but not after dusk.

Yes, Bear Tooth is Mary's favorite road in the USA. We had a very good meal in Cook City a few years ago.

If I am running any kind of a load (20% throttle or more in 4th or higher) I want to be at least at 2900 RPM. I don't mind it being at 2500 RPM if it is a low load (less than 20% throttle).
If I'm riding hard, I live between 3000 and 4200. Cruising, most of the time I'm at 2900 to 3200. In the pic above I am going downhill, no load, 10% throttle and around 2800 rpm...but that does not happen often...was slowing down for the cage in front of me.
What tune are you running to get those results?
It seems no matter what I do with the PV, my 2011 TG runs really hot ( 270-285) and I get about 30 MPG, highway riding at 65 to 70.
