Traded in my '14 Limited for a '15 Triglide about four weeks ago, never had or ridden a trike before, so, as a novice, just like to know if it's supposed to make a clanking sound when I upshift or downshift? It also makes a similar sound when I decrease or increase throttle. Is it normal, or should I bring this to the dealer's attention? I've got about 1,400 miles on it. Thanks!

That's how you know you successfully shifted it. But, a better tranny lube helps it run smoother. I've gone to Belray in the transmission and shifts are smoother and not as clunky.

Every Harley I've ever owned starting with my 1970 Iron Head clunked when you put it in gear. If I ever got a Harley that didn't I'd worry.
