Default 2.25" Foot Board Extender Review

Sorry for the delay but as promised I got to the write up about this new style foot board extension today.

http://www.tglidestuff.com/FootBoards.html

You can click on the above link to see them for all models and the installation instructions but... you know how it is. Do a mod and if it turns out great you want to tell everyone.

OK... so. I finally got around to installing these new extensions. At first I thought 2.25"?!?! Holy Cow. If you were on two wheels you definitely don't want to lean into a corner!!

Why wouldn't the old 1" extension do just fine I thought? They are the main stay, yes? Then I started the installation and it opened my eyes to see just how for these extension will keep your legs away from the breather and horn. Not only does it push your foot boards out 2.25" but you can adjust each side either at the Stock position or 1/2" higher or 1/2" forward. This is very cool... Let me show you...

First... This product is manufactured very professionally. I mean absolutely first class. It's it just a thing of beauty?

Here is a picture of my foot on each side. I used the 1/2" higher position. Notice I have a Stage 1 OPEN breather and on the right side a very large horn with a set of Wards fans. These things pushed against my legs. NOT NOW.

I like to ride with my heel on the footboard and toe on the hwy peg. Boy.. that's easy to do now. Your left foot isn't pinned between the front toe shifter and the hwy peg anymore. The right side doesn't hit the brake pedal anymore and drag the brakes or hit the brake light by accident.

When the weather turns warm again I'm sure my legs will be cooler by far. Some say the legs block the fresh air to the motor. No way this will happen with these extensions. I've gone from feeling like I'm riding bow legged to like I'm riding a horse with my feet in the stirrups. It's very comfortable.

The installation was straight forward. Follow the written directions that come with or go to the website for color pictures. You will need a good set of Allen wrenches (Socket style that are extended would be preferred).

I give this mod ***** five stars!

Enjoy

-Wiz

NOTE: They will not work on a two wheel bike because they replace the kick stand bracket and are too far out to the side to go around a corner without dragging.

Didn't you get a set a while back? How do you like them? What position did you use?

My dad likes his, just hasn't had the chance to really ride it and test them out. We have it in the top holes, just sitting on it and it feels good. The workmanship of the parts is 1st class, but then that is how Dennis rolls.

I did, I didn't want to highjack your report. I posted mine on an older thread here, but it's a few pages back now. I was lazy in my post and didn't post any pictures. I also posted on the other site, but I can't find it any more.

I have mine at stock height and 1/2" forward. It helps keep my heel away from the rear shifter. Also way more comfortable when I put my heel on the footboard and my toes up on the crash bar pegs

Don't you feet and legs get cold when riding now. I know I used the shorter ones, and I feel I can't get my toes in close enough to the lowers to block the wind.
