Default Back up protection

Twice I have backed my Trike up against a curb. These were gentle touches but enough to ding the pipes. The curb was about a half inch higher than the bottom of the pipe. The parking slot was shallow and and I want to make sure my front wheel was clear of any traffic.

I was thinking of curb feelers. People my age might remember these. They were up there with fender skirts and auto-headlight dimmers. Has anyone tried such as idea?

I played around with the reverse camera. I mounted atop the trunk with double-stick tape just to test. If I could pipe the output into the Boom, I would go that route. It was pretty cool and I liked that I had a third view of the world behind me but I am not going to mount another viewer on my bike. If harman kardon would expose and API, those kind of things would be possible. Oh well...just a thought.

Proximity sensors as well as backup cams have finally taken the place of the long-absent, once useful, but really silly looking curb feelers. It sounds like a lot of work either way unless you're just doing it for sh*ts and grins. Oh, and the newer upscale cars have auto-headlight dimming. Again. Without the big chrome spaceship-looking blob on the dash like the '63 Chrysler Imperial I almost bought once had. And yes, it had the skirts, too.

LOL ! You can get fender skirts for the Trike, You can also get wireless backup cameras. They work on bluetooth,so if you could get Harley to come up with an alarm or something to warn you if too close through the Infotainment center. You can also use your cell for the bluetooth with the camera.
They also have small monitors like 5" for the cameras. ANYTHING is possible !

Not really.. I saw some on an old '51Merc low rider (lead sled) just about a week ago. Those things really make noise too !

Actually I've learned to just get close, stop, and just push it back if need be. After doing it for four years it usually ends up 3" to 5" away. If you're worried about that extra couple of inches, you should have found a better spot.
