I have a 21 CVO TriGlide and am looking for a Bluetooth Helmet that will work with the HD Boom system. Cant hear the radio with my present helmet, going down the road....
I've been using my HJC FF Modular with the H-D headset and boom mic.
I have an extra set for my wife's helmet (if she choses to ride with me) and with my cell phone tucked into the little fairing pocket it works fine.
I use the Shoei NSII, with the HD/Sena 20S EVO. Bluetooth will NOT work well with non-Harley Wireless headsets and WHIM. I have this setup and I can hear everything that my Boombox delivers! Even my XM Radio. Voice commands work with bike and also Siri. Costs a bit but it is an excellent way to hear phone, music, news, or wife and other wireless riders similarly equipped.
Lawabidingbiker.com sells some amazing tutorials if you need to learn about the boom. Good luck. BTW it's not the helmet, it's the electronics that make things work.
I should have been clearer in the initial post. My CVO comes with the WHIM and I am looking for a helmet with all the electronics (mike, speakers, and bluetooth/Mesh controls), built into the helmet already.
Harley offers one but there has to be other options... Thus my question..
I do like the Shoes NSII though....
You have to use a Harley branded Sena unit to get stereo sound or a Harley branded 20S EVO or 30K (like the one that came with your CVO trike) to get stereo and HD audio. If you use non HD branded Bluetooth unit the audio will sound like an old transistor AM radio. This was done by design to force people to buy HD branded headsets.
I just spoke with Sena Tech Support and they told me that any of their Momentum Helmets will work fully with the new HD BOOM! system as long as it has WHIM installed.
Took a while but that solved my problem. Now all I have to do is find a Sena Momentum in my size...
Test before you purchase! Sure ANY bluetooth headset will produce "sound" with WHIM but the firmware is different for the HD branded units .... by design.
Same situation back in the days of Garmin vs HD RoadTeck GPS units. Harley brand works 100% Garmin 75%.
