Default Triglide tires

I think I've settled on commander 3 for the front of my 2022 triglide, but I see it comes in the same size front or rear. Just watched DK customs video on rear tire reversing. Does anybody run the commander 3 rear reversed on the front?

A tyre has a direction of rotation for a reason. Over here running a tyre reversed is an inspection failure. I doubt Michelin recommend it either.

Without looking it up are DK doing it because the rear has twice the depth of a front tyre?

I'm not tire expert but did sleep at a Holiday inn once or twice. Think of the stress the rear tire is under that the front isn't. They are wrapped reversed of each other for that reason and is basically why you need to reverse the rotation. Someone on another forum posted a letter they got from Michelin stating just that. They didn't come out and say you can but if you do. Lawyers get in the way of everything. Everyone lowers their tire pressure below what's recommended. No difference really. Maybe worse.

I know I am a long way from America and what I say has no bearing on what you can do there but taking a letter from Michelin to the inspector showing it okay to put a rear on the front backward still won't get me a pass. LOL.

If I remember correctly they never said you can. Just if you do. Very carefully worded. Do they check your air pressure way over there?

Here are a couple of videos that may be useful in decision making regarding Front and Rear Tires on a Harley Trike.

On the front tire video, I added this comment, pinned at the top-
ATTENTION: It has been pointed out to me that this video can be interpreted that DK Custom Products is endorsing or recommending that you/anyone/someone should use a Rear Tire Reversed, when it clearly states on rear tires that they should be used for rear wheels only.
Everyone should do their research, and make their own informed decision.
This video is simply showing what I have been doing on my Trikes, and why.

Regarding the nanny state, bogus info on rear tire pressure-

I agree 100% on tire pressure. As long as lawyers don't get involved it's all good. We all take chances every time we throw a leg over. And we learn things that make the next ride that much better.
Hopefully

I can't find the thread right now. but Michelin does approve the reverse rotation when used on the front wheel. In fact they recommended the practice when a rear tire is used on the front..
All because of the lay of the plies orientation to rotation and torque.

I know what happens here is not applicable but the inspector has to fail the vehicle if "A tyre not fitted in compliance with the manufacturer’s sidewall instructions"

As I quipped above a note from Michelin won't help especially if they put the direction of travel on the side wall.
