We have a brand-new 2022 CVO Tri Glide - had the CB installed as it works best for our group with communication. 1st module was a bad module - would not work after several flashes at dealership. Replaced with new module. Flashed and seems to be working - HOWEVER - others say to hear us it is very static, weak and we sound far away. Checked connections - seem to be OK. Any thoughts? It is going back to dealer this week and hopefully they can fix before we leave on road trip but they aren't even sure what the issue is.
Check and make sure the squelch is not turn all the way up, also check the antenna connections . I had a similar issue on our ultra, turned out to be a bad antenna. It was new and bad at the same time.
Don't know what you are using for a microphone, but if you aren't talking pretty loud into it the noise canceling will make your voice weak to the receiver.
Also as mentioned the SWR will effect it a lot. I eats up the power if very high. SWR stands for "standing wave ratio" which is the amount of power reflected back to the radio from a miss matched antenna, or poor connections in the coax... Are you using a CB antenna or the one for the radio ? They are different.
The dealer likely doesn't have any idea how to check the SWR, or what is correct. You don't want a SWR over 1.5. The lower the better.
