Has anyone worn out a rear set of tires on a Trike?
I was curious how many miles someone got out of them?
Dealer said they are car tires!
Any difference in miles between the 15” and the 18” tall?
I had 45000 on my 14 when I swapped them for Michelin but there was still some depth left. I wanted newer tires with a smoother ride.
Was there a significant improvement? I have switched OEM tires to Micheline on my past three pickups for the better ride. I never thought of this for my Freewheeler but makes a lot of sense, especially if it gets my wife back in the passenger seat! It has been my experience that a fresh set of Michelins' brings a vehicle to a noticeably superior ride and worth the switch even before new tires are needed!

Wow that’s great, doing the math with a new tire on just a two wheel bike replacing a rear tire every 10K to 12K and they aren’t cheap means it’s smarter to ride a Trike lol
Mine still had plenty of tread on my Michelin Pilots, but replaced them due to age. I never run tires more than 5 years. 5 years on the vehicle…6 years by date code.
oh yeah, and just before replacing the rears I went to an empty parking lot that had a dusting of sand. And yep, they drifted well.

I really liked the ride with the Michelin on it but the Stock tires were old??? I would put those or Cooper CS5 … I hate to swap my current ones because the bike is a 21 and Ito Ly has 5000 miles on it. I would try to sell the stock ones
I want the most compliant tires I can find. I hear Goodyear Assurance are good performers in that area. And since tires last so long, I would prefer something sticky up front. My used trike will be 5 years old next year and it will be all new rubber. I'm really loving cruisetecs I put on my LRST and they do make the size fo TGU.
I had about 10,000 miles on the OEM tires on my '18 Tri-Glide when I opted for new H-D chrome wheels,
At that time the front tire was showing some wear bur the rear tires (to me) looked almost new.
I still have them in storage and they look just like they did when I replaced them but with them being 6 years old (at least) there's no way that I would trust them for long trips or at freeway speeds.
My new wheels and tires are 18" front and 16" rears and I expect to get at least 6 years of use or 30,000+ miles out of the rears and hopefully 15,000 ? miles out of the front tire.
