Yeah, Im starting a thread on a dumb question that shouldnt be a question. I have a 2015 HD FLRT 103HO With 8000 miles. I bought some Iridium Plugs while I was out of town from a Cycle shop that deals with parts for HD only. He looked up my trike and engine size and sold me the plugs. Im now at home and go to install them. Installed my 409 Taylor wires from DK Customs first, pull old plugs (disappointed that someone used screw-nippled Autolites) with an 11/16 socket. Ok I say but dont care because Im junking them right? Wrong, I had to reuse them because the thread size is much smaller (7/16) than the ones I bought (1/2) but when I search online I find plugs that have a thread size of 11/16 that say they fit my Trike. I know the easiest solution is to take my plug and match it in person at the store. Im going to do that. My question is Are all of the parts Stores wrong or is it possible my motor had work done that would change the size spark plug used? Everything on the bike was stock all the way down to the shifter pegs.
I would suggest to use OEM or Champion plugs and OEM wires. Your bike has ION sensing, and that it what retards the timing in the event of poor fuel quality, or a heavy load that would cause detonation. Some aftermarket plugs do not allow the ION sensing to work as it should. Don't fix what isn't broke.

Yes, I read about the Ion sensing. I bought the Ion Sensing Taylor 409 Wires from DK Customs. The Autolite plugs look like theyve been in the bike since it was bought, but Im hopeful that Harley would not have used these with screw-in nipple tops which were loose on top and barely snug (not at all tight) install. Ill have to drive 3hrs (one way) to a Harley Dealer to match the Autolites since nobody can send the correct plugs to my door.

You just have to order the correct plugs.
Champion - RA8HC
H-D Standard - 6R12
OEM - 32362-04A
Stock Harley or Champion plugs will fit. Stop overcomplicating it.
yeah I’ll just go with Crapions
Never would run that in my cars if my life depended on it tho. I still can’t believe someone ran something worse like these Autolites. Since this will be the 3rd set of plugs on an 8000 mile motor I guess I should buy several sets.

It's not like the old days with spark plugs. Back in Carb days you read the plugs to check the color and see if you were running rich or lean. Today's computer controlled engines with Oxygen sensors, ecm's etc pretty much cancel out all those old plug readings. Stick with OEM plugs, they were designed for this engine and it's hard to go wrong with that.
After reading everyones replies and the many other threads, I found out I was right about Autolite 4164 and wrong about going with other types of plugs that I didnt mention. The Autolite 4164s only have an ohm resistance of 6k whereas the Oem, Harley, and Champions for Harley have an ohm resistance of 22k-25k. Other plugs do not even really advertise their ohm resistance and I dont feel like wasting time and money on finding out lol. Gunnysgt made a good point as I am from the old Carb days and despise all of these electronic advancements. Even with those advancements the Autolites were black. Why wouldnt they be with such low resistance and loose screw-on nipples. Ill just to try to keep the Champion plugs from rusting or change them when they Start. Thanks to OhioHD for supplying those part numbers as well.
Why would an engine with only 8000 miles need new plugs ? Black from being gas fouled or oil fouled ? Some one try and tune this bike and maybe has it screwed up ?
How does it run ?
