I forgot to add that the lower bracket from Harley has you use a stud and nut to replace the 3" engine case bolt at the lower bracket mounting point. I didnt like that idea so I went to Lowes and bought a 3 1/2" bolt and using a small spacer to offset the bracket.
Also the fan seems like it will moves some air between the cylinders, will have to report back later this summer to let you know how it works out
My father just bought an Ultra Limited, and loves everything about it except for the fact that it gets so hot when stuck in traffic. The Ultra Limited has an oil cooler, and we run synthetic oil to lower the risk of oil breakdown. But even with the rear-cylinder deactivation, the bike gets a little hotter than he would like.
The only solution I could think of was the HD parade fan; I had heard of the Lenale Fan as well, but I have heard little positive about it. It seems that several people here have had good experiences with the HD parade fan, but someone earlier in this thread brought up the point of using an oil cooler fan.
Does anyone have any experience with oil cooler fans?
If not, does anyone have any other tips for heat management issues on Touring models?
I have the Arizona Oil Cooler fan kit on a Jagg 10 Row, the fan is kinda punny even when using both of them and they don't move much air. The combo seems to work though but I feel it is mostly the Jagg 10 Row doing the lions share of the cooling.
They make a new oil cooler now with a dedicated fan already on the unit and it is a beefy model. 17 row I think with a strong fan from the factory but the install is not as straight forward as the Jagg. See this forum, it has been a bear for some and they don't get much help from the company that sells the unit. Ultra Cool or something like that, some one will come in with the correct name and specs.
I have a cool running and better performing trike now after several mods. Check out the cooling mods used by different owners on this forum, they have solved the problem for the most part.
I installed a Lenale fan on my Tri glide and relocated the horn under the rear air deflector which hides the horn completely. I hooked up the power from my accessory switch to turn it on or off. I was at Americade this past week and hit some heavy traffic in town, when I hit the switch for the fan it definatly pushed a lot of air across the cylinders,which you can feel on your rightleg. I don`t know how effective it is but I figure every little bit helps.

Another nice option w/the Lenale fan and they supply the hardware. One little quirk to be aware of (and I seem to find these things) is to keep your pant leg away from the fan input. Hence, you will have no air circulation!
I bolted the original horn and chrome housing to the single hole near top of down tubes, right under engine guard cross-over.
