A friend just gave me a Howard Horn the big one (dynamic duo) Just wondering if worth putting it on . Anybody use this horn befor? and how do they like it? My buddy hasnt use it so he has no idea how it works ? Thanks
i have one on my dyna, and plan to add one to my ultra. the only problem for me (and some others that have posted here) is the bracket breaks from the engine vibration. I spoke to the guys at howards horns (and other than their bad attitude) they say they now have a fix for it. They use double isolation washers on both connection points. (originally they were only using one.)
as far as sound and db's, i love this horn. cagers always move out of the way, and on more than one occasion, have almost sh*t themselves when i have hit it next to them.
If found a simple , easy and cheap way to get a better horn and make it look right.
On my road Glide I bought an after market louder car horn
using the two thin brakets that come with it I Douabled them up removed the front fuel tank mounting bolt put the bolt throught the bracket and reinstalled with the horn. Horn in mount facing down to keep dirt and water out as instructed. It clears the forks and fuel tank and can not be seen unless you get in and look for it. Add 6 inches of wire to to reach the new horn done. 20 minutes horn is loud and out of site. cost 15 dollars.
it worked so well I am going to put one on the right side also.

I have those horns on my RKC. I love them. When you hit the horn button, people hear your horn -no excuses.
I bought mine used and they did not have the second isolator rubber. I called the company and they sent me one for a few dollars. You can read the install instructions on their website if you do not have them. Even if you have the instructions, be sure to use the latest ones.
The install was easy, but it took a few hours to do the wiring neatly. You need to mount the relay somewhere under your seat.
There have been a few complaints about the quality of the plating and some peeling issues. Mine are fine. I had their single trumpet horn on my'97 Heritage Classic as well - no problems whatsoever.
Scared the crap out of an inattentive yahoo in a cage on the way to work today with my Howards. They work real well! I use a stock h-d shock mount under the mount bracket and the cow bell/compressor cover and after several thousand miles with that setup and they are holding up great![sm=biker2.gif]
